I am a photographer in Raleigh, North Carolina currently pursuing a degree in photojournalism from Randolph Community College in Asheboro. I have interned at the Lincoln County News in Newcastle Maine and for the non-profit organization, Activate Good, in Raleigh, NC.
I've been taking pictures ever since I first annoyed my uncle and his new girlfriend with the Instamatic 110 camera they gave me for my 13th birthday. Documenting their flirtation was my first picture story. That experience taught me the power of visual communication, its connection to emotion and memory, to shared history and personal expression, to the language of light, the magic of shadow.
My aunt and uncle were not the only ones who fell in love.
